FronTier Associates is an international
network providing strategic consultancy in the field of emerging
computer and communication technologies.
Founded in 1997, FronTier Associates is an
international network of European and American strategy, technology,
finance and business experts, all specializing in IT.

FronTier Associates draws on a network
of specialists, all experts in their fields, who are called

Cédric
Thomas
Cédric Thomas has over twenty
years' experience in strategic consulting and IT market analysis.
Cédric founded FronTier Associates in 1997, where he
advises both large organizations and technology start-ups.
As both an investor and a consultant, he actively took part
in three IPOs, contributed to the launch of several technology
start-ups, helped set up technology firms in Boston and San
Francisco, and participated in the initialization of a start-up
incubator in Paris. Cédric Thomas was Vice-President
and Associate Director of Pierre Audoin Conseil, the leading
European independent company in consultancy and marketing
studies for the software and IT services markets. During his
time with the company, he created an annual programme analyzing
the open systems market and received international recognition
for his analyses of the market trends that structure the IT
sector along open systems standards and emerging technologies.
He has led over a hundred research and consultancy projects
for clients including EDF, SNCF, France Telecom, Matra, Microsoft,
Oracle, SAP, Groupe Bull, IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Sun and Siemens.
Cédric holds a Masters degree in Computer Science
from the University of Paris and studied for his PhD in Economics
at the Sorbonne. He teaches a Strategy course at the Institut
National des Télécommunications.

Josh
Greenbaum
Joshua Greenbaum has 20 years of experience
in the industry as a computer programmer, systems analyst,
author, and consultant. Prior to starting Enterprise
Application Consulting, Josh was the founding director
of the Packaged Software Strategies Service for Hurwitz Group,
which focused on technology, infrastructure and business issues
in the enterprise applications market. In the '90s, he spent
three years in Europe as an analyst for Hurwitz Group and
Patricia Seybold Office Computing Group, and as European correspondent
for Information Week and other industry publications. He has
been a close observer of the ERP market ever since. An award-winning
columnist, Josh Greenbaum is widely quoted in the trade and
business press and is a regular columnist for Datamation.com,
Intelligent Enterprise, SearchSAP.com, as well as Managing
Automation magazine. Josh is a graduate of the University
of Michigan (magna cum laude) and has done graduate work in
computer science at the George Washington University.

Moos
Bulder
Moos Bulder is a seasoned IT Industry
executive, having held top positions in global General Management,
and Sales and Marketing for over thirty years. He has a successful
track record in building and turning around companies and
organizations, in developing direct and indirect sales organizations
with distributors, OEMs, resellers, and consulting and software
companies and in dealing with Fortune 1000 companies in all
sectors. In the last five years, as President/CEO of Verio
Europe, Moos oversaw all European operations. Previously,
he was Vice President for PSINet Inc.'s hosting business in
Europe; prior to that, he was Vice President of Sales, Marketing
and Strategic Alliances for Open Enterprise Computing at Siemens
Nixdorf in Germany, successfully expanding its international
business. Moos Bulder founded Bulder
Vision BV, in the Netherlands in 2005, to provide IT companies
with marketing and management consulting, and skill development
and sales support services.

Alain
Tomasian
Alain Tomasian is an expert in High Performance
Computing, Open Source Software and Java development technologies.
He was systems engineer with Cray Research, in charge of technical
support for large accounts including global oil leader Elf
Aquitaine (acquired by Total in 2002). In 1997, Alain founded
Naos Technologies a systems
integration company specializing in developing open source-based
Internet solutions. At FronTier Associates, Alain is the internal
technology consultant: helping us understand complex technology
issues and carrying out the most technically oriented interviews.

LeRoy
Tavares
LeRoy Tavares is the Principal of Austin
Hi-Tex, a consulting firm in Austin, Texas, providing
short-term, performance-based services to help high-tech companies
pursue new customers, establish partnerships and close deals.
Prior to establishing Austin Hi-Tex, LeRoy Tavares was president
of Ecensity Corporation, a Franco-American software startup
specializing in composite application technologies. LeRoy
was formerly vice president of business development, North
America, for Maximal Corporation, a business intelligence
software vendor which was acquired by Microsoft. LeRoy co-founded
NOW Information Technology AG, a client/server consulting
firm based in Zug, Switzerland, that became the country's
exclusive Powersoft distributor with Global 500 customers
such as Nestlé, Hoffman-La Roche, Swiss Re and Ciba-Geigy.
LeRoy held IT positions at Gap, Inc., and ran a successful
computer consulting practice in San Francisco.

Don
Haback
With over twenty years' experience under
his belt, Don Haback is a recognized expert in IT industry
markets, companies and strategies. In 1996 he co-founded the
Palo Alto Management Group. He has gained in-depth knowledge
of IT industry consultancy and analysis in successive posts,
including Vice President in charge of Marketing at Quantum
Science, Vice President of the Gartner Group, then Executive
Vice President of DH Brown Associates, Inc. Don Haback has
also held marketing positions in the minicomputer field, as
well as working on Wall Street as an analyst for companies
such as Smith Barney and Nikko Securities.

Dan
Lavery
Dan Lavery has over twenty-five years'
experience in management consultancy for all sectors of the
IT industry. He was director of special studies at Quantum
Science as well as Vice President of PA Management Consultants,
a company specializing in surveys of international IT markets.
He has also led hundreds of focus groups where users are invited
to evaluate new products and technologies. Dan Lavery is one
of the co-founders of the Palo Alto Management Group.
